The squad started the new tier structure with a trip to Dalziel. In glorious conditions and on a great pitch, the boys set about there bigger and heavier opponents straight from the ko. The pace in the back division was too much for Dalziel in the early stages, and EK were soon well ahead. Quick ball from the forwards enabled early scores from fly half Ethan Aitken, winger Gordon Richardson and back row Craig Jarvis. EK continued to move the ball at every opportunity, with good support and quick offloads. This let to further tries from wingers Ryan adamson and Gordon Richardson. Captain Harry Taggart got in on the act before half time with a direct rampaging run.
The second half continued in a similar fashion, with the boys running in some great scores. The opposition had the luxury of rotating players in the heat, but it made no difference to the score. EK continued to dominate and further scores came from Ross Marks, Connor Wilson, Ethan Aitken, Harry Taggart, Grant Dryburgh, Ryan adamson and completing his hat-trick Gordon Richardson. Fair play to Dalziel, they never gave up and were rewarded with 2 good scores. This was a fine display from the boys and a great start to the tier system
final score 75-12
